The employer is a precision machining and fabrication company serving aerospace and defense customers.
We are hiring a Lead Manufacturing Engineer to join our industrial & manufacturing engineering team in Glendale. You will set technical direction on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Glendale office.
What you’ll do
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products
- Support new product introduction on the production floor
- Design fixtures, tooling and work cells
- Drive scrap reduction, cycle-time and cost improvements
- Write work instructions and process documentation
- Lead PFMEAs and root-cause investigations
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Working knowledge of lean and continuous improvement
- CAD skills for fixture design
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Experience with automation and robotics
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Glendale, AZ is $71 – $87 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
