We are hiring a Lead Controls Engineer to join our electrical & computer engineering team in McAllen. You will set technical direction on projects that matter to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our McAllen office.
What you’ll do
- Commission equipment on site and train operators
- Design control panels and electrical schematics
- Develop HMI and SCADA screens
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs for automated equipment
- Integrate robots, vision systems and safety devices
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Commissioning experience
- Willingness to travel to job sites
- Experience programming Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with FANUC or ABB robots
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 13849)
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in McAllen, TX is $126,000 – $160,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
