Industrial Engineer Intern

The employer is a manufacturer of industrial pumps, valves and flow-control equipment.
Our Rochester office is growing, and we need an Industrial Engineer Intern who can gain hands-on experience from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative industrial & manufacturing engineering group and report to the industrial & manufacturing engineering manager. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is on site at our Rochester location.
What you’ll do
- Run time studies and set labor standards
- Analyze operational data and recommend improvements
- Build capacity and staffing models
- Design facility layouts and material flow
- Map value streams and lead kaizen events
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Industrial Engineering
- Strong analytical and spreadsheet skills
- Experience with layout or simulation software
- Clear communication with operations teams
Nice to have
- Lean Six Sigma certification
- Experience with FlexSim or Arena
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Rochester, NY is $25 – $29 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
