HVAC Design Engineer Intern

As an HVAC Design Engineer Intern with the employer, you will gain hands-on experience and help shape how the mechanical engineering team works. This position is based in Richmond, CA. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Richmond office.
What you’ll do
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare and education buildings
- Support construction administration and commissioning
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations
- Model systems and produce construction documents in Revit
- Select equipment and write specifications
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Experience with load calculation software
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and mechanical codes
- Strong coordination skills
Nice to have
- LEED AP credential
- Experience with energy modeling in eQUEST or IES
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Richmond, CA is $28 – $33 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
