As an HVAC Design Engineer Intern with the employer, you will gain hands-on experience and help shape how the mechanical engineering team works. This position is based in Chicago, IL. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is on site at our Chicago location.
What you’ll do
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare and education buildings
- Support construction administration and commissioning
- Select equipment and write specifications
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations
- Model systems and produce construction documents in Revit
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Strong coordination skills
- Experience with load calculation software
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and mechanical codes
Nice to have
- Experience with energy modeling in eQUEST or IES
- LEED AP credential
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Chicago, IL is $24 – $28 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
