Embedded Software Engineer Intern

The employer is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer Intern in San Jose, CA. In this role you will gain hands-on experience alongside an experienced electrical & computer engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our San Jose office.
What you’ll do
- Write device drivers for sensors, communication buses and peripherals
- Write unit and hardware-in-the-loop tests
- Develop firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller-based products
- Debug at the board level with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and JTAG
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Strong C programming skills for resource-constrained systems
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets
- Hands-on lab debugging experience
Nice to have
- Experience in a regulated industry (medical, automotive, aerospace)
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy or other wireless stacks
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in San Jose, CA is $44 – $51 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
