As an Embedded Software Engineer with the employer, you will work independently and help shape how the electrical & computer engineering team works. This position is based in Chicago, IL. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Chicago office.
What you’ll do
- Bring up new hardware with the electrical engineering team
- Write unit and hardware-in-the-loop tests
- Debug at the board level with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and JTAG
- Write device drivers for sensors, communication buses and peripherals
- Develop firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller-based products
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Ability to read schematics and datasheets
- Experience with an RTOS or bare-metal firmware
- Hands-on lab debugging experience
Nice to have
- Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy or other wireless stacks
- Experience in a regulated industry (medical, automotive, aerospace)
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Chicago, IL is $115,000 – $146,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
