The employer is a specialty chemical manufacturer producing coatings, additives and intermediates.
Our Los Angeles office is growing, and we need a Chemical Engineer who can work independently from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative chemical engineering group and report to the chemical engineering manager. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our Los Angeles location.
What you’ll do
- Take part in process hazard analyses
- Design and scale up chemical processes from pilot to production
- Support capital projects through commissioning
- Size equipment and prepare process design packages
- Simulate processes in Aspen Plus
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with process simulation software
- Knowledge of separations and reaction engineering
- Strong analytical skills
Nice to have
- PE license
- Pilot plant experience
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $75 – $91 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
