Our Oklahoma City office is growing, and we need a Backend Engineer who can work independently from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative software engineering group and report to the software engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Oklahoma City location.
What you’ll do
- Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
- Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
- Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- 3+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling
- Experience building back-end services in Go, Java, Python or a similar language
- Clear written communication for design reviews
Nice to have
- Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
- Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Oklahoma City, OK is $109,000 – $139,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
