Backend Engineer

The employer is a SaaS company building scheduling and dispatch software for field service businesses.

We are hiring a Backend Engineer to join our software engineering team in Glendale. You will work independently on projects that matter to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Glendale office.

What you’ll do

• Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
• Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
• Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
• Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
• Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience building back-end services in Go, Java, Python or a similar language
• Clear written communication for design reviews
• Experience operating services in a cloud environment

Nice to have

• Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
• Experience with infrastructure as code

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Glendale, AZ is $121,000 – $154,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
