Associate Structural Engineer

The employer is a mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineering firm specializing in high-performance buildings.
Our New York office is growing, and we need an Associate Structural Engineer who can learn quickly and contribute from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative civil engineering group and report to the civil engineering manager. This is a 9-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our New York location.
What you’ll do
- Build analysis models in RISA, ETABS or SAP2000
- Prepare calculations and structural drawings coordinated in Revit
- Review shop drawings and answer contractor RFIs
- Analyze and design steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Experience with structural analysis software
- Clear communication with architects and contractors
- Knowledge of IBC, ASCE 7, AISC and ACI codes
Nice to have
- PE or SE license
- Seismic design experience
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $54 – $66 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
