Our Providence office is growing, and we need an Associate Software Engineer who can learn quickly and contribute from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative software engineering group and report to the software engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Providence location.
What you’ll do
- Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
- Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own
- Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
- Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
- Write clean, well-tested code and review pull requests from teammates
- Contribute to technical design documents and architecture discussions
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
- Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
- Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
Nice to have
- Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
- Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Providence, RI is $88,000 – $112,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
