The employer is looking for an Associate Software Engineer in Oakland, CA. In this role you will learn quickly and contribute alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Oakland location.
What you’ll do
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
- Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
- Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
- Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
- Design, build and maintain services and features used by thousands of customers every day
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
- Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
- Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
Nice to have
- Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Oakland, CA is $117,000 – $149,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
