Associate Software Engineer

The employer is a networking company that designs connectivity products for enterprises and carriers.

As an Associate Software Engineer with the employer, you will learn quickly and contribute and help shape how the software engineering team works. This position is based in Lincoln, NE. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Lincoln office.

What you’ll do

• Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
• Contribute to technical design documents and architecture discussions
• Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
• Design, build and maintain services and features used by thousands of customers every day
• Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Professional experience shipping production software in at least one modern language
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
• Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
• Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Lincoln, NE is $85,000 – $108,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
