Associate Software Engineer

The employer is a networking company that designs connectivity products for enterprises and carriers.

As an Associate Software Engineer with the employer, you will learn quickly and contribute and help shape how the software engineering team works. This position is based in Boston, MA. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Boston office.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and maintain services and features used by thousands of customers every day
• Write clean, well-tested code and review pull requests from teammates
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
• Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own
• Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Boston, MA is $105,000 – $134,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
