The employer is looking for an Associate Project Engineer in Newport News, VA. In this role you will learn quickly and contribute alongside an experienced construction engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Newport News location.
What you’ll do
- Manage RFIs, submittals and change orders on commercial construction projects
- Attend owner and subcontractor meetings and keep minutes
- Support closeout documentation
- Review drawings and specifications for conflicts
- Coordinate subcontractors and track the project schedule
- Track budgets and costs alongside the project manager
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field
- Experience with Procore or similar construction software
- Comfort working on active job sites
- Ability to read construction drawings
Nice to have
- Experience on projects over $20M
- OSHA 30 certification
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Newport News, VA is $58,000 – $74,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
