Associate Mechanical Engineer

The employer is a process manufacturer of food ingredients and nutritional products.
Our Anchorage office is growing, and we need an Associate Mechanical Engineer who can learn quickly and contribute from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative mechanical engineering group and report to the mechanical engineering manager. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Anchorage office.
What you’ll do
- Run tolerance stack-ups and apply GD&T to drawings
- Perform FEA and hand calculations to validate designs
- Manage engineering change orders and documentation
- Build and test prototypes, then iterate on the results
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Hands-on prototyping and testing experience
- Understanding of common manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in SolidWorks, Creo or NX
Nice to have
- Experience with ANSYS or Abaqus
- Experience with injection molding or sheet-metal design
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Anchorage, AK is $47 – $57 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
