Our Chicago office is growing, and we need an Associate Materials Engineer who can learn quickly and contribute from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative materials engineering group and report to the materials engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Chicago office.
What you’ll do
- Perform failure analysis on returned and field components
- Run mechanical, thermal and microstructural testing
- Select and qualify materials for new product designs
- Support suppliers with process and material issues
- Write material specifications and test reports
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering
- Strong report writing
- Experience with materials characterization methods
- Laboratory experience
Nice to have
- Graduate degree in materials science
- Experience with additive manufacturing
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Chicago, IL is $72,000 – $92,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
