The employer is a contract manufacturer producing precision metal components and assemblies.
We are hiring an Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our industrial & manufacturing engineering team in Detroit. You will learn quickly and contribute on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 9-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our Detroit location.
What you’ll do
- Write work instructions and process documentation
- Design fixtures, tooling and work cells
- Develop and improve manufacturing processes for new and existing products
- Drive scrap reduction, cycle-time and cost improvements
- Lead PFMEAs and root-cause investigations
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
- CAD skills for fixture design
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Working knowledge of lean and continuous improvement
Nice to have
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
- Experience with automation and robotics
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Detroit, MI is $39 – $48 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
