The employer is a structural engineering practice working on commercial, healthcare and higher-education buildings.
Our New York office is growing, and we need an Associate Civil Engineer who can learn quickly and contribute from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative civil engineering group and report to the civil engineering manager. This is a 9-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our New York location.
What you’ll do
- Support construction administration, including submittal review and site visits
- Prepare cost estimates and quantity takeoffs
- Prepare stormwater reports and calculations
- Coordinate with municipal reviewers and secure permits
- Produce construction drawings and specifications in Civil 3D
- Prepare site, grading, utility and drainage designs for land development projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Ability to manage several projects at once
- Strong technical writing skills
- Working knowledge of local and state design standards
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT certification
- Experience with HEC-RAS or SWMM
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $53 – $64 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
