The employer is looking for an Associate Backend Engineer in St. Louis, MO. In this role you will learn quickly and contribute alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our St. Louis location.
What you’ll do
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
- Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
- Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
- Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Clear written communication for design reviews
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling
- Experience operating services in a cloud environment
Nice to have
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in St. Louis, MO is $90,000 – $114,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
