Our Seattle office is growing, and we need an Associate Backend Engineer who can learn quickly and contribute from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative software engineering group and report to the software engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Seattle office.
What you’ll do
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
- Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
- Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling
- Clear written communication for design reviews
- Experience building back-end services in Go, Java, Python or a similar language
Nice to have
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Seattle, WA is $118,000 – $151,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
