The employer is looking for an Associate Backend Engineer in San Jose, CA. In this role you will learn quickly and contribute alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our San Jose office.
What you’ll do
- Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
- Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
- Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Clear written communication for design reviews
- Experience operating services in a cloud environment
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling
Nice to have
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in San Jose, CA is $124,000 – $157,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
