We are hiring an Associate Backend Engineer to join our software engineering team in Columbia. You will learn quickly and contribute on projects that matter to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Columbia location.
What you’ll do
- Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
- Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
- Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling
- Clear written communication for design reviews
- Experience building back-end services in Go, Java, Python or a similar language
Nice to have
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Columbia, SC is $83,000 – $106,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
