Backend Engineer

The employer is a health technology company building software and devices for outpatient care.

As a Backend Engineer with the employer, you will work independently and help shape how the software engineering team works. This position is based in Frisco, TX. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Frisco office.

What you’ll do

• Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
• Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
• Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
• Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
• Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
• Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Strong understanding of relational data modeling
• Experience operating services in a cloud environment
• Clear written communication for design reviews

Nice to have

• Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
• Experience with infrastructure as code

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Frisco, TX is $118,000 – $151,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
