The employer is looking for a Staff DevOps Engineer in Santa Clara, CA. In this role you will set technical direction alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Santa Clara location.
What you’ll do
- Operate Kubernetes clusters, including upgrades, scaling and cost control
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that let teams ship safely several times a day
- Harden infrastructure and automate security patching
- Take part in an on-call rotation and lead incident reviews
- Manage cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Strong Linux administration and scripting skills
- Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD tooling
- Hands-on experience with a major cloud provider
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with service meshes
- Kubernetes certification (CKA or CKAD)
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Santa Clara, CA is $226,000 – $288,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
