Associate Software Engineer

The employer is a networking company that designs connectivity products for enterprises and carriers.

As an Associate Software Engineer with the employer, you will learn quickly and contribute and help shape how the software engineering team works. This position is based in Jackson, MS. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Jackson office.

What you’ll do

• Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
• Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
• Design, build and maintain services and features used by thousands of customers every day
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
• Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own
• Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
• Professional experience shipping production software in at least one modern language
• Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Jackson, MS is $81,000 – $103,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
