HVAC Design Engineer Intern

We are hiring an HVAC Design Engineer Intern to join our mechanical engineering team in New York. You will gain hands-on experience on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is on site at our New York location.
What you’ll do
- Select equipment and write specifications
- Perform heating and cooling load calculations
- Support construction administration and commissioning
- Model systems and produce construction documents in Revit
- Design HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, healthcare and education buildings
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
- Experience producing construction documents
- Experience with load calculation software
- Knowledge of ASHRAE standards and mechanical codes
Nice to have
- Experience with energy modeling in eQUEST or IES
- PE license
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $30 – $35 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
