As a Staff Data Engineer with the employer, you will set technical direction and help shape how the data engineering team works. This position is based in Jacksonville, FL. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Jacksonville office.
What you’ll do
- Monitor data quality and fix pipeline failures quickly
- Optimize warehouse cost and query performance
- Work with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into data products
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into the data warehouse
- Model data in dbt so analysts and data scientists can rely on it
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with an orchestration tool such as Airflow or Dagster
- Understanding of dimensional data modeling
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with data contracts or data observability tools
- Experience with Spark or Flink
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Jacksonville, FL is $157,000 – $200,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
