Associate Controls Engineer

The employer is a packaging manufacturer running high-speed production lines across several plants.
We are hiring an Associate Controls Engineer to join our electrical & computer engineering team in Los Angeles. You will learn quickly and contribute on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Los Angeles office.
What you’ll do
- Design control panels and electrical schematics
- Commission equipment on site and train operators
- Program and troubleshoot PLCs for automated equipment
- Develop HMI and SCADA screens
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
- Commissioning experience
- Willingness to travel to job sites
- Ability to read electrical schematics
Nice to have
- Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 13849)
- Experience with FANUC or ABB robots
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Los Angeles, CA is $54 – $66 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
