The employer is looking for an Associate Structural Engineer in Newport News, VA. In this role you will learn quickly and contribute alongside an experienced civil engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Newport News location.
What you’ll do
- Build analysis models in RISA, ETABS or SAP2000
- Analyze and design steel, concrete, masonry and wood structures
- Prepare calculations and structural drawings coordinated in Revit
- Perform condition assessments of existing structures
- Review shop drawings and answer contractor RFIs
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Clear communication with architects and contractors
- Strong hand-calculation skills
- Experience with structural analysis software
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in structural engineering
- PE or SE license
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Newport News, VA is $74,000 – $94,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
