Software Engineer

The employer is a SaaS company building scheduling and dispatch software for field service businesses.

The employer is looking for a Software Engineer in Ventura, CA. In this role you will work independently alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Ventura location.

What you’ll do

• Contribute to technical design documents and architecture discussions
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
• Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
• Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
• Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own
• Write clean, well-tested code and review pull requests from teammates

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
• Professional experience shipping production software in at least one modern language
• Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Ventura, CA is $140,000 – $178,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
