Lead Controls Engineer

The employer is a precision machining and fabrication company serving aerospace and defense customers.

Our Roseville office is growing, and we need a Lead Controls Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative electrical & computer engineering group and report to the electrical & computer engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Roseville office.

What you’ll do

• Program and troubleshoot PLCs for automated equipment
• Develop HMI and SCADA screens
• Commission equipment on site and train operators
• Design control panels and electrical schematics
• Integrate robots, vision systems and safety devices
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work
• Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience programming Allen-Bradley or Siemens PLCs
• Willingness to travel to job sites
• Ability to read electrical schematics
• A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery

Nice to have

• Experience with FANUC or ABB robots
• Knowledge of functional safety (ISO 13849)

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Roseville, CA is $159,000 – $202,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
