Our Chicago office is growing, and we need a Principal Hardware Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative electrical & computer engineering group and report to the electrical & computer engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Chicago location.
What you’ll do
- Work with firmware engineers to debug hardware-software issues
- Design high-speed digital boards with processors, memory and FPGAs
- Drive designs through manufacturing release
- Perform signal and power integrity analysis
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of high-speed interfaces such as DDR, PCIe or Ethernet
- Lab skills with oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers
- Experience with Cadence or Altium
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with HyperLynx or similar SI tools
- FPGA development experience
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Chicago, IL is $173,000 – $221,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
