Software Engineer

The employer is a health technology company building software and devices for outpatient care.

The employer is looking for a Software Engineer in Reno, NV. In this role you will work independently alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Reno location.

What you’ll do

• Design, build and maintain services and features used by thousands of customers every day
• Automate repetitive build, test and release steps
• Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
• Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
• Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
• Improve performance, reliability and observability across the services you own

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant professional experience
• Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
• Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
• Professional experience shipping production software in at least one modern language

Nice to have

• Experience building distributed systems or event-driven architectures
• Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Reno, NV is $118,000 – $151,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
