We are hiring a Principal Hardware Engineer to join our electrical & computer engineering team in Detroit. You will set technical direction on projects that matter to our customers. This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension. This role is on site at our Detroit location.
What you’ll do
- Drive designs through manufacturing release
- Perform signal and power integrity analysis
- Design high-speed digital boards with processors, memory and FPGAs
- Work with firmware engineers to debug hardware-software issues
- Lead board bring-up and hardware validation
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Lab skills with oscilloscopes and protocol analyzers
- Experience with Cadence or Altium
- Experience designing complex multilayer PCBs
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- FPGA development experience
- Experience with HyperLynx or similar SI tools
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Detroit, MI is $106 – $129 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
