Senior Embedded Software Engineer

The employer is an electronics design company building connected consumer and industrial products.

Our El Paso office is growing, and we need a Senior Embedded Software Engineer who can lead technical work from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative electrical & computer engineering group and report to the electrical & computer engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our El Paso location.

What you’ll do

• Bring up new hardware with the electrical engineering team
• Write unit and hardware-in-the-loop tests
• Write device drivers for sensors, communication buses and peripherals
• Debug at the board level with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and JTAG
• Develop firmware in C and C++ for microcontroller-based products
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• Strong C programming skills for resource-constrained systems
• Experience with an RTOS or bare-metal firmware
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets
• A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery

Nice to have

• Experience with Bluetooth Low Energy or other wireless stacks
• Experience in a regulated industry (medical, automotive, aerospace)

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in El Paso, TX is $134,000 – $171,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
