Senior Aerospace Engineer

The employer is an aerospace company designing aircraft structures, systems and components.

The employer is looking for a Senior Aerospace Engineer in Springfield, IL. In this role you will lead technical work alongside an experienced aerospace engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Springfield office.

What you’ll do

• Run stress, thermal and dynamics analyses
• Analyze aircraft and spacecraft structures and systems
• Work across design, manufacturing and supplier teams
• Write test plans and support qualification testing
• Prepare certification and compliance documentation
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
• 5+ years of relevant professional experience
• Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance may be required
• Strong technical documentation skills
• Solid understanding of aerospace structures or systems
• A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery

Nice to have

• Experience with FAA certification
• Composite structures experience

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Springfield, IL is $138,000 – $176,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
