Our Dallas office is growing, and we need a Staff Data Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative data engineering group and report to the data engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Dallas location.
What you’ll do
- Work with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into data products
- Optimize warehouse cost and query performance
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into the data warehouse
- Monitor data quality and fix pipeline failures quickly
- Model data in dbt so analysts and data scientists can rely on it
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with an orchestration tool such as Airflow or Dagster
- Strong SQL and Python skills
- Understanding of dimensional data modeling
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with data contracts or data observability tools
- Experience with Spark or Flink
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Dallas, TX is $161,000 – $205,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
