The employer is looking for a Staff Network Engineer in New York, NY. In this role you will set technical direction alongside an experienced software engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our New York location.
What you’ll do
- Monitor performance and troubleshoot outages
- Document network designs and standards
- Configure routing, switching, firewalls and SD-WAN
- Automate network changes with Python and Ansible
- Design, build and support enterprise LAN, WAN and data center networks
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Firewall administration experience
- Strong routing and switching knowledge (BGP, OSPF)
- Clear documentation habits
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with cloud networking
- CCNP or CCIE certification
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $191,000 – $244,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
