As an Associate Backend Engineer with the employer, you will learn quickly and contribute and help shape how the software engineering team works. This position is based in San Diego, CA. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our San Diego location.
What you’ll do
- Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
- Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
- Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Experience building back-end services in Go, Java, Python or a similar language
- Experience operating services in a cloud environment
- Clear written communication for design reviews
Nice to have
- Experience with infrastructure as code
- Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in San Diego, CA is $109,000 – $139,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
