Lead Quality Engineer

Our Tempe office is growing, and we need a Lead Quality Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative industrial & manufacturing engineering group and report to the industrial & manufacturing engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Tempe office.
What you’ll do
- Own corrective and preventive action (CAPA) investigations
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues
- Develop inspection plans and control plans
- Monitor processes with statistical process control
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with ISO 9001 or a similar quality management system
- Strong documentation habits
- Root-cause analysis skills (8D, 5 Whys, fishbone)
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
- Experience with AS9100, IATF 16949 or ISO 13485
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Tempe, AZ is $115,000 – $147,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
