Principal Energy Engineer

The employer is a regional electric utility serving residential, commercial and industrial customers.

We are hiring a Principal Energy Engineer to join our energy engineering team in Philadelphia. You will set technical direction on projects that matter to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Philadelphia location.

What you’ll do

• Model energy-saving measures and calculate payback
• Conduct energy audits of commercial and industrial facilities
• Write reports and present results to clients
• Design solar PV and battery storage systems
• Run measurement and verification of completed projects
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work
• Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience
• Experience with energy modeling tools
• Knowledge of building systems and energy efficiency
• Strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills
• A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery

Nice to have

• CEM or PE certification
• Experience with incentive programs

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Philadelphia, PA is $126,000 – $160,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
