We are hiring a Principal Environmental Engineer to join our environmental engineering team in Bakersfield. You will set technical direction on projects that matter to our customers. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Bakersfield location.
What you’ll do
- Prepare air, water and waste permit applications
- Collect and interpret soil, groundwater and air samples
- Plan and run site investigations and remediation projects
- Advise clients on environmental regulations
- Write compliance reports for state and federal agencies
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil or Chemical Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Field sampling experience
- Knowledge of EPA and state environmental regulations
- Strong technical writing
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with PFAS investigation or treatment
- PE license
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Bakersfield, CA is $139,000 – $177,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
