Our Knoxville office is growing, and we need a Principal Energy Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative energy engineering group and report to the energy engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Knoxville location.
What you’ll do
- Run measurement and verification of completed projects
- Conduct energy audits of commercial and industrial facilities
- Design solar PV and battery storage systems
- Model energy-saving measures and calculate payback
- Write reports and present results to clients
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
- Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Energy Engineering
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience
- Knowledge of building systems and energy efficiency
- Experience with energy modeling tools
- Strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with incentive programs
- CEM or PE certification
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Knoxville, TN is $122,000 – $155,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
