The employer is looking for a Senior Data Engineer in Charlotte, NC. In this role you will lead technical work alongside an experienced data engineering team and take real ownership of your work. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Charlotte location.
What you’ll do
- Monitor data quality and fix pipeline failures quickly
- Optimize warehouse cost and query performance
- Model data in dbt so analysts and data scientists can rely on it
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into the data warehouse
- Work with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into data products
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with an orchestration tool such as Airflow or Dagster
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse
- Understanding of dimensional data modeling
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with data contracts or data observability tools
- Experience with Spark or Flink
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Charlotte, NC is $134,000 – $171,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
