Staff Data Engineer

The employer is a networking company that designs connectivity products for enterprises and carriers.

Our Gilbert office is growing, and we need a Staff Data Engineer who can set technical direction from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative data engineering group and report to the data engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our Gilbert office.

What you’ll do

• Work with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into data products
• Optimize warehouse cost and query performance
• Monitor data quality and fix pipeline failures quickly
• Model data in dbt so analysts and data scientists can rely on it
• Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into the data warehouse
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work
• Set technical standards and guide decisions across multiple projects

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience
• Strong SQL and Python skills
• Experience with an orchestration tool such as Airflow or Dagster
• Understanding of dimensional data modeling
• A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery

Nice to have

• Experience with data contracts or data observability tools
• Experience with Spark or Flink

Compensation and benefits

The pay range for this position in Gilbert, AZ is $166,000 – $211,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
