Software Engineer Intern

The employer is a software company building workflow and analytics tools for operations teams.
Our New York office is growing, and we need a Software Engineer Intern who can gain hands-on experience from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative software engineering group and report to the software engineering manager. This is a 12-week paid summer internship. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our New York office.
What you’ll do
- Partner with product managers and designers to scope and estimate new work
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, and write the follow-up that keeps them from recurring
- Mentor teammates and help raise the bar for code quality on the team
- Contribute to technical design documents and architecture discussions
What you’ll bring
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
- Comfort working with version control, code review and automated testing
- Solid grasp of data structures, algorithms and software design principles
- Experience with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in New York, NY is $41 – $48 per hour. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
