As an Associate Backend Engineer with the employer, you will learn quickly and contribute and help shape how the software engineering team works. This position is based in Long Beach, CA. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is on site at our Long Beach location.
What you’ll do
- Own services end to end, including deployment, monitoring and on-call
- Write design documents and weigh trade-offs with the wider engineering group
- Build asynchronous processing with message queues and streaming systems
- Design and operate APIs and data pipelines that power customer-facing products
- Improve test coverage and release safety for critical services
- Model data and tune queries for PostgreSQL and other data stores
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Strong understanding of relational data modeling
- Clear written communication for design reviews
- Experience operating services in a cloud environment
Nice to have
- Background in high-throughput or low-latency systems
- Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in Long Beach, CA is $111,000 – $141,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
