Our West Valley City office is growing, and we need a Senior Data Engineer who can lead technical work from day one. You will work closely with a collaborative data engineering group and report to the data engineering manager. This is a full-time, permanent position. This role is hybrid, with three days a week in our West Valley City office.
What you’ll do
- Model data in dbt so analysts and data scientists can rely on it
- Optimize warehouse cost and query performance
- Build and maintain batch and streaming pipelines into the data warehouse
- Work with stakeholders to turn reporting needs into data products
- Monitor data quality and fix pipeline failures quickly
- Mentor junior engineers and review their work
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics or a related field
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience
- Experience with an orchestration tool such as Airflow or Dagster
- Understanding of dimensional data modeling
- Experience with a cloud data warehouse
- A track record of leading projects from scope through delivery
Nice to have
- Experience with data contracts or data observability tools
- Experience with Spark or Flink
Compensation and benefits
The pay range for this position in West Valley City, UT is $138,000 – $176,000 per year. Final pay depends on experience, skills and qualifications.
